OVERVIEW

Astute Social is a real-time SocialMedia Management tool who is currently working with some of the international Brands including Pepsi by PepsiCo, Inc, Dominos, McCormick & much more. It combines social listening, analytics, publishing, audience engagement & ad management into a single platform. It uses sentiment analysis and real-time monitoring to drive customer understanding and inform product development & campaign decisions.

The Challenge

The challenge was to build a QA process for the project. Before we joined the project, the application was already live, the platform is constantly being updated with user reports & follows a demanding agile development schedule which sees frequent updates.The client had a requirement to ensure that their current platform has the maximum amount of scalability and compatibility. Along with this the application is having a third party APIs and is deployed across a myriad of devices and a number of software platforms. At a very early evaluation process, we have already clearly seen problems that could become critical if they were not eliminated in the early stages.

Proposed Solution

Our solution was deployed according to the Qualitest’s automation development model using newly redesigned testing frameworks to deliver optimum results within an agile delivery methodology.

It includes:

  • Performed the Exploratory testing on live application and uncover all issue.
  • Created Checklist of features to track the testing progress.
  • Created Regression test suite to perform quick regression.
  • Created well define the automation process for regression & daily health check.
  • Did continuous integration using Jenkin for automation stories.
  • Created Automation storyboard in JIRA to track the automation process.

Result

The end results were unbelievable as initially we were at nothing & by the end we Reduced Test Execution Efforts by 90% . We sought to also achieve the above results by deploying a tailored set of testing services, Which included the following:

  • Increasing the amount of test planning and the number of testing resources.
  • Increasing the code repository that can be utilized for automated test scripts.
  • Increasing the number of setups (i.e. the number of devices that a feature can be set up on)
  • Reduced the Bug Ratio.
